If we would ask you to think of an interior that represents you, what would it be?
As an artist expresses himself (or herself) through his work, a person can express through interior design style. Perhaps, it’s masculine Industrial or soothing Modern Mediterranean? Playful and chic Art Deco or functional and aesthetically pleasing Scandinavian? Or a combination of?
On the other hand, we also think that a certain style is not as important as creating an atmosphere that reflects us and in which we feel comfortable.
In most cases, we live in a variety of styles. Over time, we accumulate things, our tastes change, there are other family members and their preferences. As a result, styles are layered on top of each other and we get our own and unique style of the home. And it's great!
Understanding style preferences is more relevant to designers as it serves as a starting point to understand which direction to move when developing a concept for a client. For this purpose a mood board is usually created, that is a collage with a set of pictures that abstractly describes the atmosphere of the future interior, while not being tied to specific objects.
Based on the agreed mood board, style boards are created for each room, where designers describe each space in more detail and with a reference to particular furnishing and accessories.
